About Us
Stacie and Dan Aufdem-Brinke Vesta, the Roman Goddess of fire, is an appropriate name for the sparkling new restaurant that grew out of the ashes of a devastating fire in January. Asaro’s had been Boonsboro’s pizza source for 25 years before a fire swept through the building housing the restaurant in the early hours of January 19, 2007. Owners Dan and Stacie Aufdem-Brinke who had bought the business in 2003 were determined to rebuild, hoping to reopen Asaro’s in its original spot. As the project was just about to start, the former U.S. Hotel building, just across the street from Asaro’s became available. The larger space in the US Hotel building gave them the ability to expand their rebuilding plans and bring delicious Italian food back to their loyal patrons in a bright, airy new location. The pre-Civil War building needed some updating and renovation, but the spot was perfect for their vision of a restaurant catering to food lovers of all ages and sizes. The new space takes up the entire main floor of the building. This gave the Aufdem-Brinkes a chance to create a party room which can hold up to 25 people for private celebrations. There is also an outdoor dining area, sure to be a patron favorite in warmer weather. The menu features pizza from the traditional cheese in three different sizes to The Warrior (Pepperoni, bacon, sausage, ham, meatball with extra cheese) to The Maryland Crab(a NY Style pizza with Old Bay Seasoning and lumps of Maryland crabmeat). The menu also includes salads, crowd favorites like wings, dipping bread and cheese fries. The traditional Italian dishes include spaghetti, ravioli, Fettucini Alfredo, chicken and eggplant parmesan and stuffed manicotti. A variety of subs and wraps rounds out the menu. Watch for the announcement of Vesta's grand opening on this site. Vesta is located at 2 South Main Street, Boonsboro, MD 21713. Phone (301) 432-6166.
